So, I am sitting in the library cafe of my school, Brooklyn College and I am looking at all of my past endeavors. And, I come across my blog. Something, that I was very passionate about but just STOPPED! So, I am trying to re-ignite that fire that I had during 08′ and some of 09′. I hope this will still attract the attention of those that was aware of my blog and paid it little if any attention.

So, I first and foremost want to tell you guys that I have not abandoned you. I am working another blog as well!! It’s the clothing line that I am affiliated with, it’s called UPscene and it is another one of my babies. Beside, this one!! This is my venture and yours…
Since, I’ve been gone a lot of drama has erupted… Chris & Rhi-Rhi… Blah, blah, blah…
But, one pic that has caught my mind is this new Kelis pic… I have always been a fan of hers because, first and foremost she has one of the fiercest styles in the game.. And, In my definition of fierce is never defined by mainstream media and clothing styles.
Well, with out the long and boring essay here is the pic of Kelis, that I am really loving…

Happy Monday People…

And, for the record it takes a lot for me to really admire people, that’s because I admire those that are truly deserving, of my admiration. Seriously! I will not admire any John Hancock out there!! But, M.I.A made many people look at here in a different lite, whether it was one with criticism or one with recognition. She was definitely acknowledge last nite.

The ‘Swagga Like Us’ performance last nite was an higlight of the Grammy’s, it wasn’t the best performance in my book, but it definetly was highlighted as one of the best performances of the Grammy’s in 2009.

M.I.A, was nominated for a Grammy last nite, for record of the year. M.I.A’s hit song, ‘P aper Planes’ has been recognized by both the Hip-Hop culture, the mainstream media, because of it’s role in ‘Slumdog Millionaire”.

M.I.A took the Rap and Hip-Hop to the next level, with her techno infiltrated beats and her different sound effects within each of her songs. Even, her style of dress, was very unique compared to the Hip-Hop and rap heads you see on a daily.

M.I.A is definetly a star, to look out for. She has also been nominated for an Oscar, her song “O…Saya” was recognized from the “Slumdog Millionaire” movie. She is on her way, and she has her own unique style of showcasing guts, talent and star potential!

And… Let me say!! I think it is ballsy that she took to the stage on her ‘due date”!! It shows her love for the music and the oppurtunity!! I loved it!! Last nite, she embodied the true beauty of woman and a talented one at that…

Kid Sister is now a Spokewoman for MOB….

The other day, I was browsing the net (my usual, especially when I am at work). And, I came across something, surprising.

The MOB ( Money Over Bitches) clothing line has recruited, Kid Sister, as their new spokeswoman.

Who is Kid Sister?…. Well, she is a native of Chicago. Whom has been signed to Kanye West’s, DJ A-Track’s label, Fool’s Gold. With, two singles commanding attention, Kid Sister’s singles have even been nominated by BET for the best female rapper of 2008 award.

Kid Sister has worked with Pharrel Williams, N.E.R.D and Kanye West.

Push, a novel by the author Sapphire, who introduces, a character by the name of Precious. Precious, happens to be a illiterate, obese teenager, who mothers two children from her father.

Push, was first introduced to it’s readers in 1996, when the book was published by Vintage publishing. Now, Lionsgate just cut a deal with director, Lee Daniels to promote this flick. They even were able to get Oprah Winfrey and Tyler Perry to join along in promoting this film.

The film includes a cast of Gabourey Sidibe as Precious Jones, Mo’Nique, Paula Patton, Lenny Kravitz and Mariah Carey.

In all honesty after seeing a small clip about this film, I am interested. I never read the book, but when I was a tiny booper, I heard a lot of raves about it.

This film was also featured at the Sundance Film Festival in January of 2009 and it recieved many accolades & awards. The audience award, the Grand Jury prize and a Special Jury prize for the acting within the film…

Okay, not to sound sooo cynical but today is a rather BLAH day to me today. The job is the same; FUCKING BORING, people in my office are comedians, and my family is driving me insane!

But, the one thing that keeps me, prideful and happy is that OBAMA is PRESIDENT!! After, all the festivities I decided to just rejoice and continuously rejoice based on that one situation.

Would anyone ever think that the USA would have, a black president?

Soooo, tonite I saw the movie, NOTORIOUS!! Which is a must-see it captivates not only Biggie’s story, but a struggle that many people that I know is going through. It pulled at my heart strings and it actually talks about the challenge of life while trying to get to that DREAM!

The DREAM that many of us, have while we are children. The DREAM that we are at sometimes are scared to exposed to society because of it’s criticism.

A DREAM, that only the courageous ones believe can happen…

The DREAM of life, happiness and talents that you, yourself know you can put into action. If only, you would work at your full potential.

The movie inspires because it stresses to people that eventhough life gets in the way, you can always surpass your problems with strength and the constant walk towards happiness. Even, when LIFE get’s in the way!!
